Assignment Note: When Teaching Candidates are learning to create lesson plans it is beneficial to study lesson plans and lesson planning to learn to recognize and develop good ones. This process takes practice. In this assignment:
Candidates chose an existing K-6 grade lesson plan from Learn NC that addressed a NC Essential Standards - Information and Technology Skills objective for a grade and an area. (These Standards are correlated with the ISTE and NETS-S Standards.)
Using the sample Digital Lesson Plan template candidates critiqued the existing lesson plan, then made suggestions, if necessary, for redesigning the lesson. (NCWC uses the 10 Step Lesson Plan format. This assignment provided an alternative perspective while helping candidates to recognize the most important elements of a lesson plan.)
Using the 3 templates for the Dynamic Instructional Design Model the candidate analyzed the designing, planning, and the necessary actions to teach or redesign a lesson plan.
